Tennessee borders our corner of Southwest Virginia, so the Tri-Cities area and upper East Tennessee are close to home for us. For Middle and West Tennessee, we travel for the right job. Call or text with your county and we will tell you straight whether it makes sense.
East to West, the weather changes
East Tennessee has mountains, snow in the higher spots, and steep lots that need careful site prep. Middle Tennessee gets hard summer storms and plenty of rain. West Tennessee is flatter farm country with strong wind and storm season to plan around. Humidity is common statewide, so condensation control inside an enclosed building is worth discussing.
Every building we sell is certified for local wind and snow loads, and engineered drawings are available. That certification matters more in parts of the state that see severe spring weather.
Popular builds in Tennessee
- Equipment and hay barns for cattle operations
- Boat covers and storage near the big lakes
- Shops and garages for tools, trucks, and hobby work
- RV covers and enclosed RV storage
- Commercial storage and small business buildings
Turnkey or building only
We can pour the concrete and set the building, or just handle the building on a pad you already have. Turnkey means site review, prep, footers below frost depth, a 4-inch slab, and the install. Concrete is quoted separately so you can see what each part costs. Read about our concrete process.
County rules vary
Tennessee counties and cities each have their own take on permits, setbacks, and inspections. Some rural counties require very little for an ag building, while towns may want drawings and footer inspections. Call your local codes office before you order so there are no surprises.
Picking a roof for Tennessee
About 80% of what we sell is a vertical roof. Panels run from the peak down, so rain and snow slide right off and there are fewer places for water and debris to sit. A boxed-eave roof, sometimes called horizontal or A-frame, is a solid mid-price choice for smaller buildings. A regular curved roof is the lowest cost and works fine for simple carports. We will tell you which one fits how you plan to use the building.
If you are near Bristol, Johnson City, or Kingsport, you are close to our Southwest Virginia base, which makes site visits easier to set up.
Enclosed buildings can qualify for rent-to-own with 15% down, and 15% down also locks a quoted building price until spring. Call or text 276-235-1191 to get started.
Common Questions
Do you work in Middle and West Tennessee?
We travel for the right job. Northeast Tennessee is close to our Southwest Virginia base. For farther areas, call or text with your county and we will talk it through.
Can I lock in a price now and build later?
Yes. A 15% deposit locks the quoted building price until spring, which helps with steel and fuel costs going up.
Do ag buildings need a permit in Tennessee?
It depends on your county. Some exempt farm buildings and some do not. Call your county codes office to confirm for your property.
