Eastern Kentucky is just over the mountains from our Southwest Virginia base. For the Bluegrass, Western Kentucky, and the rest of the state, we travel for the right job. Call or text with your county and we will be honest about whether it fits.
Two Kentuckys to build in
In the eastern coalfield counties, the challenge is terrain. Narrow roads, steep ground, and limited flat space mean site prep and delivery access come first. In the Bluegrass and farther west, ground is gentler but wind and spring storms are a bigger concern for wide open sites.
Kentucky winters bring freeze-thaw cycles that can crack poorly placed concrete. We pour footers below local frost depth and think about control joints in the slab so cracks go where they are supposed to. Humidity in summer makes vapor barriers under the slab worth discussing too.
What we see built here
- Hay and equipment barns for horse and cattle farms
- Tobacco and general storage barns
- Detached garages and mechanic shops
- Hunting and fishing gear storage
- Barndominium shells on rural land
One crew for concrete and steel
Our turnkey service covers the site review, prep, footers, 4-inch slab, and setting and anchoring the building. You get one point of contact from start to finish. If you already have a pad, we can quote the building alone. See our building types.
County rules come first
Kentucky permit requirements vary a lot by county and city. Agricultural buildings are sometimes treated differently from garages and shops. Setbacks and frost depth requirements also vary. Check with your county building or planning office before you order.
Sizing for real use
A common regret we hear is building too small. If you are storing a tractor today, think about the implements, the hay, and the side-by-side you may add later. Leave room to open doors and walk around equipment. It costs a lot less to go a little bigger now than to add a second building later. Our size guide is a good place to start.
A lot of Kentucky buyers end up with a building that does double duty, like half equipment storage and half shop. If that is you, tell us up front so we can plan a walk door, windows, and a slab layout that fits both uses.

Common Questions
Do you deliver to Eastern Kentucky?
Yes. Eastern Kentucky is close to our base in Southwest Virginia. Send us your county and a few photos of the site to get started.
How do you keep a slab from cracking in Kentucky winters?
We pour footers below local frost depth, use control joints so cracks happen in planned spots, and talk through vapor barriers. Concrete can still hairline crack, but good prep keeps it under control.
Do you build horse barns?
We build barns and ag buildings in custom sizes. Tell us how you plan to use it and we will help you lay it out.
