Montgomery County is the busiest county on this list, with Christiansburg as county seat and Blacksburg home to Virginia Tech. Step outside town, though, and you are back in farm country around Riner, Shawsville, Elliston, and Prices Fork, with the Roanoke and New Rivers nearby.
Stoots Storage Solutions is a family-run metal building and concrete contractor based in Southwest Virginia. We handle the site work, concrete, and building ourselves.
How Montgomery County Folks Use Steel Buildings
- Detached garages for homes in growing neighborhoods
- Workshops for woodworking, metalwork, or a home business
- Commercial buildings for contractors and small businesses
- Barns and equipment storage for farms around Riner
- Vehicle, RV, and hunting gear storage
Homes, Farms, and Businesses
From a two-car garage behind a house in Christiansburg to a big commercial shop, we build garages, workshops, barns, commercial buildings, and barndominium shells in custom sizes. See our building types and the gallery for ideas.
One Crew, Start to Finish
We start with a site review and handle site prep, footers, and a 4-inch slab. Then the building is delivered, set, anchored, and checked before we leave. Concrete is quoted separately. Our calculators can help you get a rough feel for size and layout before you call.
Rent-to-Own Terms
Not ready to pay for the whole building up front? Our rent-to-own program starts with 15% down, and the monthly payments run about 25% lower than typical rent-to-own programs. You also get 90 days same as cash, and that clock starts the day the building is physically delivered. Enclosed garages, shops, and barns qualify. Open carports are not eligible for rent-to-own.
Permits in Montgomery County
Every county handles permits a little differently, and setbacks, frost depth, and wind and snow requirements are set locally. Before we pour anything, check with the Montgomery County building office about what your building needs. We can supply engineered drawings for the permit packet, and we will work around whatever the inspector asks for.
If you live in Christiansburg or Blacksburg town limits, check with the town as well. Some neighborhoods also have HOA rules.
