Metal Buildings in Maine

Maine is the farthest point on our list from Southwest Virginia. We travel for the right job, and we will be honest if yours is too far or too small to make sense. Call or text with your town first.

Coast and north woods

Coastal Maine gets nor’easters, salt air, and strong wind off the Gulf of Maine. Inland and up north, winters are long with heavy snow and very deep frost. Rocky ground is everywhere. Short building seasons mean planning ahead matters.

Every building we sell is certified for local wind and snow loads, with engineered drawings available. A vertical roof sheds snow best, and footers must go below local frost depth.

What Mainers build

  • Boat and lobster gear storage on the coast
  • Garages for trucks, plows, and snowmobiles
  • Hunting and fishing camp storage
  • Farm and blueberry equipment buildings
  • Workshops and woodshops

Planning ahead

Maine’s short building season means locking in plans early helps. A 15% deposit locks a quoted building price until spring. When turnkey fits, we do site review, prep, footers, a 4-inch slab, and the building install. See our concrete work.

Town rules

Maine towns handle permits and code enforcement locally, and shoreland zoning applies near water. Some rural towns have few requirements; others are detailed. Call your town code enforcement officer before you order.

Rent-to-own and concrete payments

Enclosed buildings qualify for rent-to-own with 15% down and 90 days same as cash from physical delivery, with payments about 25% lower than typical rent-to-own programs. Open carports are not eligible.

If we pour your foundation, concrete is quoted separately. You pay 10% of the job subtotal at signing, which is non-refundable, then 35% of the remaining balance at the footer pour and 65% at the 4-inch slab pour.

Check any company you hire

Look at the company’s Facebook business page and make sure reviews are visible. Confirm they have been in business more than a couple of years. Watch for fake-looking reviews, then check Google too. That applies to us as well.

If you work the water, a building that holds traps, gear, and a boat over the winter is a common need. Tell us what has to fit inside and we will help you plan the size and doors.
